Which are used for plywood decoration and other wooden furniture. So today we will talk about these two materials in detail in this blog.

Difference between Veneer and Laminates:

Materials: Veneer is a natural material while laminate is an artificial material.

How it is made: There are very thin slices of veneer wood that are obtained from tree people. That is why they are also known as Veneer Wood. Since these are actually only thin slices of wood, so their cost is similar to the cost of laminate.

In the case of laminates, Press together with a thin layer of flat paper & plastic resins.

Durability: Veneer usually not as durable as laminates because Scratches fall on it quickly. That is why they require more care and maintenance.

But Laminates are known for their durability which is scratch resistance.

Variety: There are few different types of veneers for different particular purposes. Like Raw Veneer, paper-backed veneer,

Phenolic-backed veneer reconstituted veneer, wood veneer, etc. Due to their natural material, they are available in limited states only.

Laminates available in a variety of colors, shades, patterns and textures. They can be classified broadly in High gloss, soft and matte.

Effects of Water: The polish and wood surface of veneer furniture can get damaged due to contact with water.

Whereas laminate gives a synthetic feel which is lacking in natural feel.

Life Span: When care and maintenance are taken, the life of veneer is much longer than that of laminates.

Laminates are safe as long as their top layer is correct, once their top layer is damaged, then the entire surface has to be replaced.

Uses: Veneer is used in conference rooms, luxury interiors, and walls, etc. Because they provide aesthetic value and a distinctive look.

But laminates are used for tabletops, office furniture, doors, and other frequently used furniture.
